Homestays in Madrid with Escuela La Ola
Homestay accommodation is the best option for living the real Spanish life. Host families will speak to you in Spanish all the time and you will be totally immersed in the Spanish language.
It is essential to us that all our students are happy with their accommodation, this is why our families are carefully selected by our accommodation coordinator, and offer a nice, safe, affordable and welcoming place to live in Madrid. In order to ensure that we choose the most suitable accommodation we ask you to inform us about any specific preferences or needs such as children, pets, location, non-smokers or other requests such as internet access, private bathroom, special diet, etc. Just let us know in advance and we will do our best to place you in a homestay that really suits your needs.
Once the accommodation is booked and confirmed, you will receive a description of your homestay.
General information about homestay accommodation
- In a homestay you can live with a married/unmarried couple, a single person, with or without children, who accommodate students just because they enjoy the company. In most cases, these are people used to hosting international students and are aware of the fact that you are getting to know a new language and a different way of life.
- You can choose to live in a single or twin room (for two people travelling together) as well as among several meal plans. In Spain, breakfast is a light meal, generally consisting of coffee, milk, biscuits, bread, butter and jam. Lunch is the main meal, normally including two courses plus dessert, and dinner is similar to lunch but lighter.
- Students have to tolerate the rules of their landlord/lady concerning smoking, visitors and use of the phone. Please note that in some cases more than one student may stay at a particular homestay.
- Standard category homestays are well connected to Madrid's city centre by metro or bus. They are usually located not too far away from the school; we always try to accommodate our students between 10 and 30 minutes by foot or public transport from Escuela La Ola.
- Although you will have your own set of keys and will be free to come and go as you please, you will have to respect some rules and meal times.
- Bed linen, blankets and towels are provided.
- Laundry and cleaning is included.
